Walk-a-Thon

WHAT IS A WALK-A-THON?

It's an opportunity to encourage our students to become healthy while collecting sponsorship donations. The Walk-a-Thon will take place during your student's "Specials" class (i.e. Music, computers, P.E., or Science). The students will walk the sidewalk loop at the Highlands Park (behind the school). Each student will receive a bottle of water and a banana at the end of their walk time.
DONATIONS DUE DATE:  September 29, 2017


WHEN:      September 29, 2017

WHERE:    Highlands Park

GOAL:       School to raise $11,000

USES:       Field trips for all grades, special treats for all kids throughout the school year, a Dr. Seuss book for all students for "Read Across America Day", teacher grants, technological equipment, dinner for teachers on PTC nights, etc.

PERSONAL GOAL:    Each student to raise $30 or more plus they will need to walk 5-10 laps.

PRIZES:     Each student that collects $30 or more, will receive a prize  -- strive for the big prize below!

WHO TO ASK:    Parents, grandparents, relatives, neighbors, etc.

VOLUNTEER:    We need volunteers to stand at certain points along the walk to ensure students stay on the sidewalk and to encourage. We will also need volunteers to hand out bottles of water and cut/hand out bananas.

PARENTS:    We encourage parents and families to walk with their students to promote healthy family activities. Younger siblings can attend, but no pets.

HOW TO COLLECT DONATIONS:
Donations can be easily collected online by going to this link:
